Hi all,
I am a full timer with a 39hr permanent contract. I wish to reduce my hours to 30, how do i go about this in the correct manner & what is the procedure?.
Can someone also tell me what element of indoor work that a 30hr contracted person would be required to do?, (i.e.) any prepping or walk sorting.

there is no longer a hard and fast rule how much indoor work a ft or pt should have.
However, you can work it out by taking off the break, and planned delivery times and whats left over will be the indoor element. What that indoor element is, will be up to the duty/manager.
In RM there are 2 ways to reduce your contract, volunteer by asking the manager (they don't have to agree, but most likely will) you won't receive any payment for it. Or wait till there is a preference exercise, hope they will be reducing hours, that there aren't too many volunteers and that you have the seniority and then you can buy down your hours, which is a form of redundancy.

REDUCING HOURS.
They'll cut your contract hours only to put you on full time walks and expect you to complete them
