1 person doing 3 deliveries

We are so shortstaffed and today one postman who always does docket did his own round plus 2 complete walks on O/T .
Never seen that before but the DOM couldn't get anyone else to take the docket as the rest of the office have had enough this week being so heavy and the guy never says no to docket.
That would be 7.48 hours on his round plus 6 + 6 meaning 19.48 hours. Is that even allowed on H/S grounds. The chap is 60 and what happened if he keeled over in the heat?

So they'll be people getting their post while watching the evening news. Who waits in the phg for him to get back at night.

Fair play. How many hours is he clocking up a week? They're really strict now about exceeding 70 hours in the West region.

Three duties is mental though, unless they're easy walks ...

even if they are easy walks nobody shud be working 19hrs in 1 day

If he's just taking 1st & 2nd Class stamped plus tracked...it could be do-able. I doubt he took all 3 duties COMPLETE!

Must be the easy walks, we can double up in our office but usually done by the runners, they get paid for 2 walks but actually it only takes the time of one walk. Up to a max of 70 hours a week only.

if the walk take 4 hours and that means 12 hours walking. He would be extremely tired. Can't imagine doing it at 60.

yes he took the lot and cleared all the leftover D2D's as well

no, south coast town walks , 4+hour walks.
Never done more than 1 and a half walks myself in one day but surely errors must start to kick in working that long

It must take an hour to tie them up. After seven hours you would be walking so slow the last walk would take five hours.

I did 3 walks a few years back - even thought it was a light Saturday it wasn't easy but good money.
You can save a lot of time on a shared van duty when you do both jobs - it's like doing another whole walk but with essentially zero travelling time. The other walk I did was a HCT duty - again you can save a lot of time if you have a van to do it in (Saturday afternoon you can have your choice of vans!)

You can't fool your legs that they haven't walked best part of 15 miles though.

You save time because you have no waiting for your partner but how can you do all the reg for three walks?. One of the lads at work has a ap that give you the miles he walks he does 15 miles a day on one walk, that includes indoors and walking to and from the bus stop.
