Withholding overtime pay

Hi, just wanted some advice please.

My boyfriend has been working as a postman since Jan 2013. In Sept 2013 his full time contract was changed to a 5 hour a week contract when he went to uni and somehow in the process he stopped being paid. It was a huge palava to sort out and eventually after a year he was paid all his contracted hours. However, during that time he did overtime over christmas, easter and for 5 months over the summer (so at least £3000 worth of overtime) which he has STILL not been paid for. he seems to get a new DOM every month who says they'll sort it but still 2 years later he is without the money. He has been to the union who said they would look into it but after speaking to them at least 5 times nothing has happened. We are unsure where to turn to next and are in desperate need for the money. No one takes him seriously as he is young (22) and they see him as "just a part timer".

tell them you will take them to small claims court to get your money owed , I bet they soon sort it out .

Does he have a written record of the hours performed? As well as all the payslips from that time?

To be honest though, if it's as you say, who works that much overtime without ever seeing payment for it?

Yes he's got it written down and so does his DOM. It's just trying to make them do something about it
