Hi,
Is there any rule/policy/agreement etc that can put a stop to PHG's/caller office staff getting sent out on delivery to cover delivery work.?
It seems that managers with us are sending out PHG's as an easy way to hit their lapsing targets, as they send the phg out on delivery and either close the callers office or cover it themselves, is there any way to put an end to this?
Any help please

PHG's getting sent out on delivery
Reading over the national agreement and under sections 14 and 15 it says that leadership roles(old phg role) and caller office staff are regarded as skilled jobs. The job is guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months to the staff member that gets the role, and they need to give 6months notice to leave the role. They get paid leadership allowance as there is no manager on site in the afternoon. It seems tho that the managers would rather send the afternoon phg out, and cover the locker himself in order to book the ot himself at managers rate, whilst also making himself look good by lapsing the delivery hrs.
This is no doubt happening right throughout the country and is surely fraud?

Not skilled job's and no grade for PHG if you were a PHG you would get reserved right's payment at the time of the agreement 2001 fifteen years ago but you still are just a postman at the end of the day!

Happens at our office all the time. As we lapse every day regardless of traffic figures the person in the callers office is sent out to do deliver any lapsing not taken and the DOM covers the callers office.dan80 wrote:Reading over the national agreement and under sections 14 and 15 it says that leadership roles(old phg role) and caller office staff are regarded as skilled jobs. PHG's getting sent out on delivery
Been happening at my office ever since i started 18 year ago, i worked as dom support for 5 year and that was one of the reasons i came out and back on delivery, couldn't get nothing done as either my self or the locker staff where out on delivery, then gaffa was on our backs because we where way behind of job's, told him where to go and took my dutie back.
its the 1st port of call when managers are short allways will be.
And as for enhanced payment, whats that all about only our work place coaches get that and they do bugga all for it
