What shoes to wear for the job

Can anyone please tell me what shoes they wear for the job. Female size 5. Do you buy your own and wear them in before the job actually starts or are they provided?

But not immediately.

As a stop gap measure you'll need to get your own. Ideally strong support at the heel, ankle and arches with good toe protection.

For colour go black or dark colours, not bright yellow or white, they are frowned on at RM because it does not present a good corporate image.

Something comfortable and supportive, and not brand new and not broken in!. When I started I wore a pair of well broken in trail approach shoes. Even then I got blisters until I got used to the daily mileage. By the time I got my RM footwear issued, my trail shoes were fit for the bin, as I had worn the soles away!

Also a good idea to wear decent padded socks as well.

After that you get good old Royal Mail trainers. Built to last 3 months and give you foot troubles for weeks to come.

RM shoes must be worn when provided. If you have a slip or accident wearing anything else it will go against you with any compensation claim submitted, it will be the first thing RM will look for. It could even be used in determining if it's "at fault" accident, your to blame.

Wrong, ganda our footwear is not PPE it's uniform,as long as you go through the proper procedure you will be ok,have a look in the health and safety section

That's all well and good for the 5-6 weeks the sole actually lasts. It's easier to prove that unicorns are the offspring of the Loch Ness monster and the Abominable Snowman than it is to get more than your '2 pairs every 2 years'

I find that the magnums are pretty decent if a little short wearing. I bought generic "orthotic" insoles from amazon (I've got flat feet) and they make a world of difference. I wear pretty good trainers when not working, and since buying these insoles, even my trainers are starting to feel uncomfortable in comparison
