driver allowance

why are postmen/women not entitled to a allowance especially since they risk parking tickets/fines while preforming there duties which need to be paid by said postaL WORKERS and not RM..................

can someone flag this with the union,

not only do they get shafted by no allowance but now get shgafted with parking tickets and fines while preforming RM duties.

its a god damn joke

oh yea, so ,your expected to carry a parcel that weighs more or less 10kg's over 5 mins by foot because there is no suitable parking, bullshit, if you have nothing construtive to say then please dont waste time posting as your trolling.

If you are carrying out your USO obligations, doing what you are supposed to be doing, unless you park somewhere ridiculous, ie on a zebra crossing, you won't have to pay any parking fine, you can stop in bus lanes for example. We have them overturned all the time if they are issued in the first place.

You're not expected to pay the fine are you?
As long as you don't park on the zig zags of a zebra crossing,(worth three points!), within reason you could probably park where you like,as long as it doesn't inconvenience too many people.

Totally agree the driver has a lot more responsibility than the other member of staff in the van and this should be reflected in the pay even if it's only 10p or 20p an hour lots of stress and aggravation but no more money.

Used to be case drivers loops where shorter, this sort of made up for it. Over the years posties have cut up loops, or changed frame to make them more even. Most duties now the reserves would much rather be passenger than driver. Should tell you something.

If I remember rightly we voted to let these go in the way forward agreement, maybe if people looked at the actual agreements they are voting for then we wouldn't be in the situation we are now.

And before anyone mentions it the union shouldn't have allowed rm to put in monetary lump sum payments on acceptance of the agreements.

yes you are according to RM, the driver is issued the fine/points ,

so who can we flag this up with and get something done about it?
