Summer lapsing

Was told this week that any lapsing that was left in would not be put out for overtime, it would just be marked down as failed!! Is this national?

We have entire walks that don't go out quite a lot lately, they do try and cover it on O/T but nobody wants to do it for the rate offered.

It's not national unless our peeps didn't get that email as I've been clearing up some lapsed walks quite a bit recently. As for 'the rate offered' - they were supposed to do away with ghosting years ago. Certainly did round here, about 5 years ago or so.

Some of the overtime junkies at our place barter with the DOM for the amount paid to do a loop,normally they get an hour a loop,but I have heard them barter it up to 2 hours,also some of the favourites get paid to do IP from 0430 to 0530 for which they get an hour,then book from 0530 till their start time at 0800,so thats 3.30,then if they are needed on IP at say 0700,they book another hour O/T,so in effect for doing 1 hours O/T they get paid 4.30 hrs,when the DOM was tackled about it he said "well they do help out"

Hour a loop? Wow. Are there regularly 8 loops (or so) to each duty like we have?. I know that happened a lot at our place back in the day but it was all knocked on the head years ago. There are still massive savings to be made in RM Corp without job losses apparently, if your experience is anything to go by!

It's a joke at our place,but to be fair there's only 2 or 3 van shares that can properly be done on time,the rest are done by cutting corners,racing around and all the rest of the usual stuff.

Ridiculous when we have some guys going over by as little as 20 minutes and struggling to get paid for it

They just done a whole new lapsing programme at my office, the lapsing people what did before has now increased by about 25 extra more drops, on our division we have two post codes one division has about 12 walks only two out of the 12 has got extra the others got none, same on the other division a couple of walks has gone none some has got extra and to rub salt in the wounds some walks has been exempt from lapsing all together and would you believe the two union reps are in that category... so apparently the walks that has none has to do indoor lapsing when they come back ie killing off for 20 minutes or doing something else as directed have you ever heard such trash in your life guys...seems the people that crack on with their job has now been crucified...

I don't see why it is ghosting, it is capitalism, I don't think the hourly rate is high enough, we used to get double time, time and a half, now it is just time, well for me, overtime is double time. I'm not ghosting, I am doing the work, you don't get a plumber round and tell him how much you are paying him. I am contracted to work from start time to finish time, outside of that I decide my rate, they don't have to agree it.

If they are being paid from 05.30 until 08.00 what are they actually doing in those hours?
