Hi all we are having a merger and taking a number of CSS staff to add to our own now the cwu is looking into when everyone started on the machines and mtsf. My question is IG there is a repick which the cwu want are they looking to do it on seniority or on allowances?. I was on nights from 2004-2009 and then went onto CSS while still in receipt of MTSF I was wondering where we stand?. Thanks

You raised this enquiry recently on another forum and at that time you mentioned that a full resign was to happen to accommodate css staff merging with your office and 4 F?T vacancies were available and other duties had not been affected in start/finish times and content. The way forward agreement 2000 states that a merger of units is classified as a major change but it also states that duties which are not affected do not have to be placed in the resign pot unless placed voluntarily.postmanbobby wrote:Hi all we are having a merger and taking a number of CSS staff to add to our own now the cwu is looking into when everyone started on the machines and mtsf. As I mentioned in your previous posting on what you described does not constitute major change in relation to the percentage of duties unaffected. I mentioned at that time that as the staff from the merging unit are classified as surplus under MTSF conditions then they would be placed in duties in relation to their allowances and the length of time that allowance has been held so as the manning of CSS machines are a specialist post then staff operating the CSS machine at the office which is being merged and their starting/finishing times remain unchanged ( although you did mention 30 minutes) do not have to participate in the resign. To disrupt all duties in the office where the merger is to be is unnecessary if the specialist posts remain unchanged. This is the easy option for RM so that they are not paying out pay protection again unnecessarily. Why can't they just use your vacant duties for this travelling staff? If you have held the higher allowance on n?s for 5 years then this will determine your picking order.
