Trackers in vans??

Yet another tool in the dom s bag to beat us with ,your van was stopped. X amount of minutes blah blah blah!! Really? A well use of management time,come out with us and see what we do and how long it takes?? Any thoughts??

I thought at the moment the only agreed use for the trackers in delivery vans was to monitor driving style - speeding, accelerating/braking harshly etc.
Not to actually track us.
Although I know of one of our lorry drivers who is constantly fighting allegations that she is making "unauthorised stops" when in fact she's just waiting in traffic!

if your manager is doing this get the rep to put in a stage 1 disagreement over it, it's not allowed at the moment as there is no agreement on its use for such things

Yep we are not happy,such a great way for doms to spend there day tracking us while nearby offices fail everyday,? And so so it goes on

Manager where I am has just used it to check on validity of overtime claims. Definitely. So no, they aren't just for monitoring driving style. I suppose if you invest in a fishing boat it would be a bit odd if you said you were going to use it to catch only cod - but not haddock

At the moment they aren't allowed to use the information that the tracking provides to "discipline" you in any way, but then again, if they catch you out and you ARE indeed claiming overtime for having a McDonald's, I'm sure the Union would have trouble getting you away with it?

If anyone was refused an ot claim ot disciplined due to the info on the tracker then that is definately not allowed and the rep should have put in a stage 1 disagreement over it

it is but as your break should be somewhere in the middle of the working day, unless its all overtime then meal relief should be in the normal hours not the overtime.

What gets me about these trackers, is they aren't actually installed in all our office vans, so only a small percentage of people are being monitored. I'm not sure how they can even consider using them for disciplinary matters in this case.

The information they monitor is insane btw - having seen a print out, they measure the speed and your location by road, so as to ensure you are under the limit. They also offer colour coded statistics showing how long you have been stopped at specific locations.
