So RM are persevering with this bizarre idea of posties WEARING a jacket and merging the mail from various deep pockets! When this was first raised, general view was that it was so bizarre that it must be an outrageous bluff - but, as they still seem to be running with it, have RM presented CWU with any video footage of how this works in practice, if there really are countries where this is the way it's done?

I was thinking just that too when I read it. Surely that is the most bonkers idea ever in the world of postal deliveries, even beating the lawn-cutting concept to fill up your hours like they're doing in Finland.

That photo can't be of a real guy on delivery surely? There's no way he could put the seat belt on for starters. Does it never get windy or rainy there? How much mail is in that tiny harness - one small cul de sac, and then you have to refill the thing? And those gaps all down the sides of the harness - mail slipping out all over the place in the real world, but maybe not for a staged photo like I suspect this may be. Bonkers idea.

Aren't delivery posties not supposed to read mail while walking on H&S grounds? How many are going to trip and fall if they are sorting mail while they are delivering?

wearing it in a van... is dangerous and ridiculous.... the health and safely implications too...would make it dangerous to the wearer and could result in possible injury....

its not UK postman. Its a Norwegian one (logo to rear of Van and RH side of photo) and he is in a LH drive vehicle.

Here is a view from the back of a walker wearing one, his trolley is alone in front of him.

Cheers, i understand...... thats their trolley... its tiny, the hct royal mail use is huge..... compared to that...
