First class EU Referendum Mail

On Saturday we had a bulk posting (first class) and was told to clear plus take lapsing (absorption) so naturally people refused to lapse on the back of this increase in work load. In what seemed to be a panic management decided we've got three days to clear this first class posting instead. Is this correct procedure as its first class mail? Anyone else had this happen? I understand unstamped Mail can be given three days but surely first class Mail is different and they've bent the rules??

All depends how it was done,

streaming of mail ie after its been sorted into frame taking out certain stuff like 1st or 2nd class or any type of mail or packet is forbidden, and that should be reported to cwu hq and anonymously to moya (this option usually fixes it quickly)

if its held back and not processed ie the boxes of it are put aside and not sorted in at all, this is classed as a mail failure which although not supposed to happen is allowed as long as the manager reports it properly, if you think the manager is not reporting it properly then report that to moya, easy way to tell is if he doesn't count each box then it's not being done properly

now streaming big style here, 3 trollies of trays full of flats and first class all failed, reason - management are useless, 2 sorters and 4 porters etc. mail fails yet other sections are out the door early and back early, sat at home on pay, we dont need these linos sapping up wages and not doing anything. dom needs to go , currently he is unapproachable, only time we here from him is when he's wingeing about standards as his bonus goes down.

depending on what was done, that's not streaming, streaming is when mail is sorted into your frame and then removed prior to delivery, if the mail has not left the boxes then its a mail failure not streaming, it is allowed(sort of) but has to be reported correctly

yes it was in the frame then we had to decide what to leave in the frame to get back on time, some took it out and left it on frame, also the managers went out at 2 delivering cutoffs !!

Were we meant to get paid for the 'addressed' EU leaflet things ?

We were made to count how many we delivered and complete a form, was this just a pointless Royal Mail exercise or are the payments pending ?

yeah you should get paid,,,,,we didn't the 1st load,,,,manager put them through late so got 2 weeks worth of payments this week.

were on 5p a leaflet,,,,but that varies between offices from 3p-6p I believe
