In my office they are a bunch of nosy B*****rds the first thing they do in the morning is go to the annual leave board to see who is off and what overtime they can pick up, next thing you know they hear the phone go they are around the DOM like flies around s**t to find out who just phoned in so they can get their killing off stickers on the best row.
They look at the duty board every morning and what makes you laugh is they have their own walk absolute no reason for them to look at the board.
Then they sign in, one clown comes in 20 minutes early every day only takes 30 mins break then slates everyone for coming in early and working their day off and people doing overtime he would rather see more staff employed yet if you put a newbie with him he would be first to complain "He is not trained enough" "Waste of time that guy he won't last two minutes" you can't win with some idiots in fact they hate and I mean hate others getting more than themselves like working their day off or doing a bit of overtime, all they have to do is put their name down and they are in for a few extra quid some are so lazy they would tie their shoe lace if it came undone.
Another trick in the office now I notice is people watching the lapsing walks to see who is doing it and who isn't so they can brush the few bits up after, some of them wants to get a life instead of been interested in what others are doing, they are on the sorting talking shite about Football, pop music etc ask them what walk such road is on they haven't a clue they look up to the IPS board even though they have been there 20 yrs or more...
Jealousy also kicks in where they see others getting Saturdays off where they have been knocked back a few months down the line they cause a uproar. One guy in our place notes all the people down who are on leave through school holiday weeks and what Saturdays and days they book off. Another clown goes up and down the isles monitoring peoples packets so then off he goes moaning to the DOM about he is getting more packets than anyone.You just cannot win with some people and one of the reasons why people note all this is because they actually come in early get their walk thrown off then they are hanging about board so they have time on their hands to go around looking at others in what they are doing and what not they are doing..

The worst are the ones who come in early and once theyve got their first wave in the frame they stand around chatting looking at their watches complaining that the lorries are always late!

I work with a clown who sarcastically says "good afternoon" when I come in at my proper start time. The fool starts up to 1 hours and 45 minutes before his start time.

As Sartre said, "Hell is other people". And I quite agree. My DO isn't quite as bad as yours but we all have our share of Dickheads! I was chatting to the guy on the next frame this morning and we agreed that some people seem to radiate stress.

Due to them frantically scuttling around collecting mail, parcels & tracked items and banging down empty boxes, they seem to pass on their frantic ways of working to those around them? I can grasp the need to get a move on but when they get upset and start snapping at other Posties I don't bother to bite my tongue.

Many's the time I've told certain individuals to Foxtrot Oscar and just get on with their own Duty, and stop worrying about what others are doing!

I'm on 30 hr contract, I do overtime most weeks. Around 6-8 hours a week. But I wait until its offered to me by management, usually minutes after I enter the office at my start time, "would you like some overtime today"? Only on one occasion have I seen colleagues swarm around someone's fitting agreeing what loops they'll do on overtime after someone went sick, but this was on an exceptionally light Tuesday some weeks ago now, so not surprising really.

God!! Not quite,but get your point.a sad decline and sign as to what this job has become,if you let it? Savings,lapsing,and so it goes on.moya hasn't a clue re life at the sharp end,smug talk at her results but at what cost,a beaten low moral workforce,with challenges on a daily basis to be overcome,all on here seem fed up,that can't be right,or do we just love to moan?

Its human nature to complain more than praise.

Also, it doesn't mean your unhappy working for Royal Mail if you complain about those parts of the job that you think need addressing. But if you do nothing in the real world (via the CWU if you must) then, I agree, complaining and doing nothing is an exercise in a pointless endeavour.

yeah it just depends on the make up of the office, at our office theres a relatively low amount of people willing to do OT, meaning managers are usually going around pleading people to come in on days off. I could do OT everyday if i wanted, theres always something that i could do, it usually gets done by someone doing their 2nd or 3rd piece of OT that day.

not interested in who's on holiday, who's sick, who has come in early , who's got this or that walk etc.
Just come in at my start time and cut off at finishing time , no stress and go home

I don't think so meerkat, when I am doing 4 boxes of flats to their one its tw**s like that holding us up from getting out, I would safely say your pretty good at yapping on the IPs.

Well that's a different matter and not what you mentioned which was annoyance at them chatting. Plenty people can chat and sort above the required speed. Regardless it's managers who are employed to take note of this not you.

You aren't a manager are you????? If not get on with your own work and leave yout well paid office managers to sort out performance - that's why we have them. You really should be complaining about your managers not doing their job shouldn't you??????
