hi just a quick question we was told today that no excess o/t can be claimed at all today at our delivery office , any other offices or areas been told this ?

Claimed today as normal. Sometimes get "the mail volumes are xx today so no overtime can be claimed" The rest of the time you have to foresee the future as only pre autherised overtime will be paid - so if you dont tell the dim before departure or you just dont complete in time - tough sh1t. Seems a bit sneaky to me so best to just grossly overestimate before departure and dont rush. Silly really.

it was busy and he stood yorkies down for tomorrow and parcels brought back from duties so just wondered if it was a national no o/t day or summat,

Nope, claimed overtime as usual, 1.5 hrs.

I walked in to a duty that's meant to be fully prepped and it had barely been touched. I'd love it, love it if he'd said no overtime. I'd be taking out less than half the walk.

Some guys in our place are scared to put in any ot at all , even though some are over every day ! Mail was millions down the day ,,but guess what once again most of office past there finish time! The figures are just a stick to beat us with day in day out .

well if they wont pay for overtime, you don't go over. they WILL have to pay someone to go out and do it anyway, so they are pissing in the wind there then.

the regulator has a lot to answer for, the market has been open to competition which is fine but Royal Mail have been constantly restricted thus it has had to cut costs = poorer service.
