If grievance is against 1st line manager then it goes direct to a stage2 grievance and copied in to Employment Relations Team Sheffield who appoint a manager at a higher level within the area to investigate the case and if felt decision to be unsatisfactory then proceeds to a 3rd stage grievance to an independent manager outwith the area.zx135 wrote:Well in that case if you don't follow the correct procedures and start at stage 1 the don't be too surprised if rm don't follow the procedures with timescales etc

stage 1 should not be jumped over, should have been put in as a stage 1 first of all before going to stage 2, if you have an issue with a manager far better to let them mishandled a stage 1 and give yourself more ammunition than to jump over stagesrehabron wrote:If grievance is against 1st line manager then it goes direct to a stage2 grievance and copied in to Employment Relations Team Sheffield who appoint a manager at a higher level within the area to investigate the case and if felt decision to be unsatisfactory then proceeds to a 3rd stage grievance to an independent manager outwith the area.zx135 wrote:Well in that case if you don't follow the correct procedures and start at stage 1 the don't be too surprised if rm don't follow the procedures with timescales etc

What stage are you at within the stage2. Has he been communicated from the Employee Relations Team Sheffield notifying the date and which manager has been appointed by them to hold the meeting.? When you say dragging on has he been notified of the investigating manager but a meeting has yet to be arranged? Is the investigating manager doing a preliminary fact finding in preparation of the meeting? Are witness statements ( if necessary) being prepared and are still in the process of finally? Wherever this stage 2 grievance is standing at the moment it needs to be prompted by some form of communication by the complainant or union rep.holly123 wrote:Thanks for replying, I advised them to put it to a stage 2 as in line with the agreement with it being against his manager, but its dragging on for him just wondered which way to go?
