EU polling cards

We are expecting Eu polling cards tomorrow,all have to be delivered on the day and for a payment of 4.5 p per item.So far so good,Now Ive heard its only payable if the walk holder completes the full duty,otherwise its all paid to the person who completes the remainder and who incidentally wont get paid overtime.Anyone heard anything similar?It sounds mad enough to be true

its garbage.

The current election material agreement and letters from senior RM managers in the relevant thread quite clearly state that you CAN be paid overtime and paid for Leaflets and Polling Cards, as long as the level of normal traffic on that day would have taken you over.

The only way you are not paid for polling cards is if they are not delivered to specification. If they say that includes refusing to work overtime then get that challenged by the rep.

can you point me to the official documentation as i want to point this out if informed otherwise.

so if the normal workload will make you go over your allocated time then you can claim overtime.

but that dont make sense its not liek the election cards will throw themselfs into the frame...that needs prep and will cause delays on toip of our normal workload....

also the counting of the cards takes time.....

The additional time taken to prep and deliver the poll cards is covered by the extra payment.

The best way to do it is to prep the poll cards at the very end. That way you'll have a good idea if the regular workload will take you over your time.

I take it you can still finish on time?

I got told by my manager last time that we had to go over as we were getting paid for them. I cut off anyway and he just walked away

I had to get back and didn't realise they were coming in.

I'm but why the hell would the business pay the duty holder for delivering all the poll cards if they don't?
If I was picking up some overtime and was told I wouldn't be getting paid for them, and that the duty holder would be I would snap

1. Unless they come DSA - Poll Cards are delivered over 3 days.

2. The person delivering the Poll Cards/Election leaflets gets paid for how many they deliver. (If you don't deliver them all you don't get paid for them all).

3. You can claim overtime when delivering Election Material as long as the traffic that day would have taken you over.
(In my opinion this was to stop posties taking them all in 1 day and claiming overtime and election material rates, it wasn't to not pay posties overtime, Managers are such chancers sometimes.)

4. The only time you don't get paid for delivering Election Material is if it is delivered out of spec (ie more than 3 days for addressed and 7 days for unaddressed).

Make sure your rep knows this especially if they are new. If I may be so bold, hold your ground if they try to flummox you, sometimes it's the only way for them to treat you with respect.

Guy in my office a floater goes to the frame today sees all the polling cards eyes lights up throws the lot off all done over 100 notes in his sky rocket, poor walk holder back tomorrow ends up empty handed, how mean is that?

Wish I got 100 quid for mine! It's a question of an easy day versus a bit of extra money. We're paid pretty well as it is so I know a lot of people at my office certainly would rather someone did all the polling cards while they were off. Personally I prefer to do them myself as I quite like the smell of money, and quite frankly I don't trust others to do my main duty properly
