Career Break... Who makes the decision?

Post by MegaGherkin »

I've applied for a career break and I feel like I'm being messed around quite a bit, I've been told my DOM makes the decision on whether I can have it or not but he says the the Head Of HR make the decisions.... But I'm part of his staff surely he knows best not someone who's sat in an office... No offence. Does anyone know who makes the final decision?

I applied three months ago and they have made no progress...

Who decides if I can go?

The decision as to whether or not you will be able to participate in the Career Break scheme will be made by your line manager. The decision will only be made after considering your application against the eligibility criteria and after formal consultation with a senior Personnel Manager (usually the Area Personnel Manager in Divisions)

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
