National agreement re not taking outdoor meal relief?

I always thought there was a national agreement that we could choose to not take our outdoor 20 minutes, to either finish 20mins early, or claim overtime accounting for that untaken break.

Am I wrong?

Is there anything official regarding this?

The timing of your meal relief should have been part of your revision process so if your unit voted to take all 40 minutes prior to dispatch, then that is when your meal relief is.
If you voted to split it 20/20 then with 20 minutes during your delivery then that is when your meal relief is.
If you voted 20/20 with 20 minutes at the end then that is what it is.

There is no national agreement covering whatever you decided locally as a unit.

yes you wrong, there is no agreement which lets you choose when to take your break, the way forward agreement allows part of your meal relief to be scheduled at the end of a shift depending on break length etc, but again its not an individuals choice when to take their breaks, your manager can tell you when to take them(there are ways to fight this if it doesnt suit you the times he gives ie disagreement)

also to claim it as overtime at the end also requires the permission of your dom

To be clearer, I'm referring to duties that have 40mins meal relief as a minimum for the day, due to the duties being over 7 hours long.

Look at the way forward agreement it says that you can take 50% of your meal relief at the end of your duties.

Actually, the sdd national agreement says that it is for the postman to determine the timing and location of their meal relief.

but that part also contains the clause "where it doesn't affect the office work plan" which a manager could easily use now with double prepping of frames etc for part timers etc
