Hi there,
any tips will be welcomed on getting facility time in a DO for the Rep. He is up against autocratic management who don't recognise the union and hamper every effort made by the rep to do his job. He's getting zero facility time and has to put in a two-week notice request which he is then asked to justify in minute detail, and then is refused.

If he is an accredited rep then the has a statutory right to facility time. https://www.tuc.org.uk/sites/default/fi ... tytime.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If has records of the previous requests, and the denial of them, collate them together and contact the Area Rep and let him deal with it. The Area Reps and Area Managers usually have a good working relationship and they could probably sort it out unofficially.Union representatives have had a statutory right to reasonable paid time off to
carry out trade union duties since 1975, and most of the current provisions come
under the Trade Unions and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, introduced
by the then Conservative government. Guidance on the practical application of
these provisions is provided in the recently revised ACAS Code of Practice ‘Time
Off for Trade Union Duties and Activities’.
