Payment for election material

We have been informed we are getting 3p for both addressed and unaddressed items (Fife). I am sure we used to get more for addressed (4.5) is it the same across the board or are we being shortchanged?

You're lucky then, I've been trying for years to get ours increased from 4.2, but just can't get it moving. I try every election, but we can't do it via individual DO. But it's still free money from my point of view.

It is a historical anomaly that has never been put right.
Some offices were paid a unit payment and some an hourly rate and some used other methods to calculate their election payment. When it was all changed to pence per item we ended up with the current mess.
I believe it was looked at but RMs view was to find an average price and pay that across the board. So if half were paid 6p and half 3p the average would have been to pay everyone 4.5p. Obviously those already on 6p wouldn't like that.
And as we all now know, you do not protect the weak by sacrificing the strong.

Wouldnt 3p for unadressed and more for addressed make sense.
Unadressed can be chucked in and you have a week to deliver.
Adressed takes longer to prep and you only get 3 days to deliver so more work required for these.
Id like to see a better system for the EU referendum cos personally I dont think the 3p across the board is worth it. Im tempted to opt out if possible.
