I have been told by my rep that royal mail have again tried to include the pensions in any deal and as a result the talks have fallen through. They said it looks like more strikes. What have the pec been doing for the past week and why was the deal agreed in the first place. They keep stringing us along while the backlog is cleared.

I think this is just rumour the fact that there are hardly any details about whats discussed this week would suggest so, i`m sure in the fullness of time we wil hear something today.

Well, royal Mail keep saying that the deal endorsed by Hayes & Ward still stands, so if it's not in there then they won't get it...

Postal Dispute

Talks between the union and Royal Mail were held today at the TUC. Those talks have continued onto this evening and will continue tomorrow.

Today is now the tomorrow referred to above and we still know jack s**t

So we sit here doing nothing while the backlog we lost 4 days money to create gets cleared and the PEC tell us nothing, so what next wait till the backlog is cleared then ask us to lose another 4 days, either get us the details of the offer and let us vote on it, or announce the details of the next round of rolling strikes, i wouldn't mind but above all this they are increasing the subs, for what.

Well, i make that a full week now since the "deal" , and no f***ing updates of note, no news of note, no Hayes/Ward, no statements from anyone.

Sorry didn't mean we have cleared the backlog, i meant the PEC seem to be spending so much time deliberating that by the time they agree if this deal is worth recommending to the members the backlog will be cleared, i heard the voting process will take month so that will be 6 weeks, since last I/A.

According to people in the mail centres and distribution centres, there is no need to worry about the backlog being cleared. We haven't made a dent in it.

In our office, management have been avoiding pressure overtime, by avoiding tackling the backlog properly. It is all stored in yorks in the mail centre and RDC.
