Is there any update on the strike action in Scotland 2 branch? The ballots were to be in by 19th April. Haven't heard anything in our office as our rep is on his summer leave.

No official figures, but it sounds as though it was a close-run thing. The vote for a strike was passed.

52 percent??? I hope the 48 percent that voted no cancel their union fees and leave the CWU. Happy to take the protection of a trade union but not willing to be UNITED for a colleague

Why would anyone nick a test letter?Anyone know the process to testing a postie? Are they disguised as birthday cards or have a wad of cash hanging out? I would have thought that investigators would have to be watching from afar and do a "sting" to catch someone. If others have access to his stuff or its left unattended then it doesnt take a rocket scientist (or a tribunal) to work out it is flawed. What a farce. If u want to be sure someone is doing wrong.. catch them in the act. Thats the only way for a watertight case (my opinion).

They don't have "test letter" marked on them.
We had a guy sacked a few years ago who was spotted opening some mail in his van by a member of the public. Test items were posted and he was observed. Quietly. He was caught with the cash from said test letters in his wallet. But that was collection theft. I assume they test delivery in a similar way.

Funny you should say that I thought they did (only joking). Exactly my point. Send test letters, observe and catch em in the act. Anything else seems pointless in my opinion. I sometimes write "test letter" on mail I post. Just to ensure it doesnt get nicked.

Why the silence? That's over a week that the results been known and there's been no announcement at all from the union, not even an official result

So RM get to ignore a judge's decisions when it suits them, then ask the law to help when they need it. What fair world we have. How low can RM go?

The re-ballot will give the union time to visit offices and explain the importance of a YES vote and how this affects them
Just as much as it affects David Mitchell. It should also give them the opportunity to address any concerns or rumours that members may have
as well as point out the lies that RM spread in their letter to the staff in the affected area.
Hopefully we can get a better result and show a power of strength and unity to RM.

RM will go to the bottom of the pit if they have to, they are the lowest of the low! It just goes to show what sort of employer's they are - branding an innocent man a thief with no evidence whatsoever, and now they are nit picking with the Union. I just hope that if there has to be another ballot ALL members vote YES. They have to be stopped for all our sakes. It could be you next in their firing line - another life shattered.

Where's this information about reballots ect coming from cause I've never seen or read anything? Maybe Scotland no 2 should realise we're in the communication business and communicate with its members not just when they're trying to be elected for a new position!
