Hi All

I had 5 days to carry over from last year but royal mail have took 3 days off this and say I can only carry 2 because I was off sick for several months last year and dropped down to half pay for 3 months therefore my leave was cut down has this happened to anyone else??????

bollocks that's not allowed, there is nothing that allows them to reduce your leave entitlement, if you dropped down to half pay you must have been off a long time, did they try and say you used any leave whilst you were off on the sick?

There is NO agreement or policy to justify the action that management have taken and they have breached your leave entitlement. Would suggest a telephone call to HR for an explanation for the reason that RM have given for removing 3 days from your annual leave. If a union member have your local union rep to investigate this through all channels area/division and HQ. Arrange for a 2nd stage individual grievance to be lodged and this will be copied into the Employee Relations Team at Pond Street, Sheffield.

thank you for your replies I rang HR this morning and they have confirmed what you guys said my leave will be readjusted by the end of the week. Drama over !!

Its a pity you have to challenge the stupid things that managers get up to all the time. Are they unable to run an office "by the book". Just think how many times this has happened to others without them noticing.
