Loaned to Other Units

Anyone tell me the rules of being loaned out to other offices, where do we stand if we get sent somewhere else

Not a lot you can do about having to do it but remember that you only have to work your normal hours and can insist on starting/finishing those hours at your home office and being provided with transportation to and from the other office.

If they send you there is nothing you can do about it they call it - Buisiness needs.
technically you have to be back at your office for your schedueled finish time there is nothing they can do about that if you tell the line manager upon arrival your only working to your hours, that's what I used to do anyway.

claim the petrol allowance from your office to the office they shipped you out to I think its about 50p a mile?

other than that be carefull they don't stitch you up ive seen it happen n more than a few occasions

Check your personal car insurance, using your car to drive to the other depot may not cover you, because it is not your normal place of work.

Far safer to report to your own depot at contracted start time, get them to provide RM transport to get you to the other depot and back (inside your contract hours if you desire).

our office tends to send the same 2 people to other offices, the ultra-slow ones that cause whoever they're paired with to either cut-off or demand their own van etc. Seems to keep the peace.

As mentioned check your car insurance policy.

Also, if you have cycled / walked / got public transport into work that day, that's a good reason to decline the offer of working at another office unless transport can be provided!
