6 hour walks

two of my colleagues done the kilt walk, which is over a distance of 26 miles (a marathon) for charitable causes, in a time of 5 hours twenty minutes!!! does this now mean posties will have to walk a marathon every day, when and if, 6 hour deliveries come in? and what consquenses does it mean for posties health and well-being???

No.
Because doing a current 4 hour delivery doesn't mean you are doing 2/3 of a marathon.

Our deliverys are around 6 hours anyway.with everything we now do from colod to scanning every parcel going forward and making sure you use trolleys do van checks and making sure you take your full meal relief there's no room to extend deliveries in my office.

If 6 hour delivery comes in... it put me in hospital.... im struggling now with 5 hour delivery...

Is is the way forward.. putting you in a hospital...

Maybe I could have been a bit more clear on this. We only have dutys this long because of massive growth since our last revision years ago so they've not originally been planned this way and also I should say that I come in on time finish on time and use all proper equipment and take breaks and if that means I can't complete then that's in the managers court.

The reason for these six hour walks is the reduction of indoor work and one wave sequenced mail from the CSS and shrink wrapping of D2D and start time changes have you noticed how the managers are very interested in how much come's in and what staff are on the IPS.

ALL staff in my office are on IPS in the morning, will take a lot of work before our office is anywhere near getting all mail sequenced in the morning

That maybe but the deliverys are still that long so a reduction of indoor work would just mean for our office that we might actually get finished on time on the whole.it still holds true out outdoor workload is too long with people going over my 1-2 hours or more most days
