Overtime

I'm a new postman and want to know how you fill in the overtime form if you go over your time what to write in it etc etc. Also are your meal breaks included in your working day as I don't take my break which is 30 mins so do I need to claim for it each day on top of any overtime. If your finished before your time and haven't took your meal break do you need to claim for it also. Thanks in advance can anyone give me some examples on the matter as this will be a great help to me.

You cannot claim meal breaks as overtime as they are to be taken during your work time and are mandatory

for filling in the OT sheet their should be someone who can help you with that at your office surely ?
Officially you are not allowed to book added time for breaks, you should take the break in the working day preferably at a specified time.
"If your finished before your time and haven't took your meal break do you need to claim for it also."
not sure exactly what this means but it should fall under my answer above.

incorrect t part of the meal break can be taken at end (depending on length of shift/break) also taking meal breaks is not actually mandatory if a normal postie, it's just mandatory to be given the right to one if working over 6 hours, everything else is just agreements between rm and cwu

Most of the part timers in my office don't have a break, and do this:

When they sign out they add 30 mins, so in theory they are having their break as they go home. If they finish at 3:00 without a break, they write down 3:30 as their finish time. If they are meant to finish at 3:00 then they fill in the overtime sheet, Date, Duty, Name, Number, Reason for Overtime, Actual time Finished.

So, if they are filling the sheet in at 3:00 and are ready to leave, they would write down finished 3:30 and their overtime would be 30 mins and the reason would be Pressure.

I'm not condoning this, just saying what most do, and it's been going on 8 years +

That's what we do with breaks too, under instruction of managers. The full timers do it too.

Our office allows breaks to be booked as overtime, however every FT has to take 20mins before they leave office. PT can book their total break allowance on the end of the day if they have worked through their day without a break. On Saturdays FT can book 40mins on the end of the day ,however it's rare to go over the time on a Saturday.

Do your offices still use the green overtime sheets???
For some reason our dom scrapped ours last year..
now what happens is on the signing in/out sheet he's put 2 extra boxes
1 undertime an 1 overtime
so if u finish at 2.30 ur 30mins under so u owe him 30mins that week somewhere....
same if ur 30mins ova he owes u
So if ur owed 30mins per day mon-Thurs ur owed 2h ot then u rush round on Friday an finish at 2pm u owe 1h so he takes it from what ur owed an pays u 1h that week

Hello unagreed banking of hours?

Are OPGs being fiddled out of any untaken, PAID outdoor meal relief, as per the agreed national agreement?

The "green sheet" is absence (working day off) overtime, the "red sheet" is pressure overtime for contracted days, at least at my depot.

All our dom said is that it was too much work for him to sort out 93 posties ot sheets (green sheet all ot) so he added 2 boxes
most weeks it's ok but others it's short by 2/3h
one postman was owed 16h an ended up getting it like 4h one week 3h another
that's wrong an fiddling the books in my eyes
we get 20mins relief in morning about 8am an other 20mins out on duty
I have to claim it as I'd finish round at 4.30pm if I took it
I book 1.30 most days
