Welcome Back Meeting
I returned to work today (Saturday) after having one (1) day off on Friday due to being unwell - is it correct that a 'welcome back meeting' is triggered from being off for one day?

Thanks. Just wanted to confirm that. Does seem a bit odd though.

Welcome Back Meeting
Technically it's a necessity under H&S legislation and "Duty of Care". Although it can be a "Feeling Better mate" scenario, the Managers have a responsibility to ensure you are fit and well enough to work, and not to expose yourself or others to any danger as a result of not being so.ScousePostie wrote:Thanks. Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (HSWA) 1974
You also have responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act to protect employees, after they return to work, if they have become more vulnerable to risk because of illness, injury or disability.
It is an employer's duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees and other people who might be affected by their business. Employers must do whatever is reasonably practicable to achieve this.
This means making sure that workers and others are protected from anything that may cause harm, effectively controlling any risks to injury or health that could arise in the workplace.
