LTB 205/16 National D2D Drop 11th April to 13th April England Only
No. 205/2016
4th April 2016
National D2D Drop 11th April - 13th April – England Only
For the attention of:
All Postal Branches
CWU Divisional Representatives
CWU Delivery Representatives
Dear Colleagues,
Royal Mail has won a contract to deliver a Door To Door item to all residential addresses in England. The items weigh 37.5g and must be delivered across a three day span on Monday 11, Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 April 2016.
They will be moved to delivery offices on Saturday 9 April to ensure none are released onto preparation frames until after deliveries have left the office that day.
All Delivery Office Managers and CWU Local Delivery Representatives are advised to use the resourcing meeting this week to confirm the operational plans, to ensure successful completion of this drop within the three day service specification. All of the usual range of resourcing options should be considered to ensure delivery of these items to the contract specification.
This is a positive opportunity which supports our joint aspirations for growth. At this stage the drop is only to residential addresses in England but we believe it will be extended to Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland next month.
Any enquiries should be addressed to outdoorsecretary@cwu.org quoting reference 230.03.
Yours Sincerely,
Bob Gibson
CWU Assistant Secretary - Outdoor

I love my trolley .madmax1 wrote:Just got the missus baking scale weights out and 37.5g is about the weight of a small/medium catalogue. Not much on its own, but even 10 or 15 in a bundle will be a significant weight let alone having a whole loop of them at a time!!

Wouldn't be surprised if at DOs where they have local agreements to hold MS3 on a Saturday if DOMs were to insist on the MS3 going out on the Saturday

If "work is jobs" Why do we have a recruitment ban at ours despite being woefully short staffed. We have plenty of work, but no jobs or upgrades to fulltime.motherhubbard wrote:Because work is jobs.DirtyHarry wrote:Just why the f**k are the CWU getting this involved in managing this f***ing shite?
