Returning after ill health retirement.
I left royal mail in 2011 due to ihr. I have since recovered and for the past two years I have been back at royal mail working for angard. My manager from royal mail has just called me saying there are vacancies coming up, he took all my details etc, and I asked him what will happen next, and he said it's going to be good news. Thing that worries me is he doesn't know why I left before. Could that go against me? Does anyone know of people that have returned after ihr. I have more than proved myself fit to work over the past two years with angard.

There should be no problem returning to work at RM.
If you are currently fit enough then they can't hold your past against you.
We had someone return several years after taking IHR (who then got sacked for willful delay)

Just an update: I seem to have got past all the stages up to security checks. The last email I received from the recruitment team asked me for my address and work history for the last 5 years which i sent. They also said 'The security check process can take up to 14 days; once complete we will be in touch to discuss your start date.' Which sounds like i have the job pending security checks which will be fine. But one thing is worrying me the status on my job application has changed to 'agency conv - non ref' whereas i thought it would be saying processing security checks, any idea what this means?

It means nothing. I think, from reading this thread http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 56&t=69653" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; its an internal programme error reporting message. Hopefully it will update correctly when they do a review of the error reports.
Having used various Microsoft database's and spreadsheets it looks like an error when the code can't work out the formula. Like trying to divide by zero.

Thanks for your response Trueblue. Can't help worrying, keep thinking they will realise i left through ill-health and stop the process! Hopefully not and it all goes through ok. I shall keep you informed.
