For a long time now and more so recently our callers Office duty seems to be getting shafted(for want of a better word). I won't go into too much detail as yet, but would appreciate it if anyone could reply to the following questions, just so we can get an idea of how things are elsewhere:
1/ What hours does your Callers Open?
2/ How many staff in your callers office (whole or part shift)?
3/Do you have SPS (new computer system) or know your getting it?
4/ If you have SPS, how many computers do you have?
5/ What size unit are you (small, medium, large) ?
6/ How many items on average do you get back each day to book in?
7/ Do you get many items brought back next day (items from OT the day before) ?
8/ Do you have British Gas Engineers parts and if so approx how many engineers?
Many thank's.

6. None. We (the postmen) have to log all P739 returns into the book and put them on the correct shelf.

How do you have time to do that? Was it built into your duty?NewPostieUK wrote:6. None. We (the postmen) have to log all P739 returns into the book and put them on the correct shelf.

I work in the caller's and cage as a relief duty. I quite enjoyed both jobs until recently, makes a change from delivery. But now I need going in there. We get a few hours here and there and are expected to then go out on delivery. There is never enough time to do the job so it is all going to pot. A number of posties from my office have been sacked recently for minor offences and when the s**t hits the fan in the callers as it inevitable will I don't want to be held responsible.

No idea. I just do everything that needs to be done and claim overtime if necessary, if I want.A2B wrote:How do you have time to do that? Was it built into your duty?NewPostieUK wrote:6. None. We (the postmen) have to log all P739 returns into the book and put them on the correct shelf.
