Heard recently that the old Gloucester Mail Centre building that has remained on the Eastern Avenue site since operations moved to Bristol
( albeit in a bit of a state after 2 years of no maintenance ) is to be given a new lease of life as Gloucester's delivery office. Gloucester North and Gloucester South DO's will move to the Eastern Avenue site in 2018.
Royal Mail have tried to sell the site, but have had no takers. This way the rents on the current DO's will be saved. And the site has its own fuel pumps / tanks, but whether RM choose to re-use them will be seen.
The separate office block ( which has a listed staircase ) is going to be used for Swindon Mail Centre's clerical work.

Old Gloucester Mail Centre to re-open
