management have informed my office to not bring back any tacked items(not including signature ones) under any circumstances. leave wherever possible if you cant leave with a neighbour, same applies if its pouring down with rain. management will take the wrap if any complaints.
I remember the days when door stepping was strictly a no no, now apparently we can leave them anywhere (tracks) or throw them over peoples gardens, what a quality service royal mail is these days.

I've always said that when someone buys something online it should be part of the payment process as to what the customer wants doing with the parcel should they not be home when delivery is attempted. It is not fair and should not be 'down to the discretion' of the delivery person. Postmen and women are losing their jobs by stuff getting stolen when they've left stuff because they're under pressure from managers to 'get rid' of stuff, especially tracked! I try one neighbour and if no joy it goes back to the office. f**k their tracked figures!

But yes, I hate the pressure that's on us to deliver everything. I very very often leave items in places the customer asks me to (not had anything go missing yet!) but sometimes it's not possible or indeed just not safe. Often the nominated safeplace is simply "behind bins" and I am not leaving anything out in the open like that. And if a customer isn't in, it's reasonable to assume that the neighbours aren't in, and indeed they usually aren't. So what do RM want us to do!? Do they want us to get a copy of everybody's house key so we can just go into people's houses with their parcels?
