Polling Cards vs Part Timers

Got poll cards due this week.

Told we get 1.5 times D2D payment and 1 day to clear em!

I feel this is unfair on part timers as they wont be prepped and we cant claim extended delivery.

I deliver to more addresses than my full time colleagues and will receive £10 less for the pleasure.

Anyone agree that part timers are yet again getting the sh1tty end of the stick.

Can we refuse to take them or work to our time and leave part of the delivery.

Ita the same issue for D2Ds. Deliver more and get less ! I know theyre meant to be prepped but they never are.

check out the other threads especially the one postman bumped. But essentially:

You have 3 days to clear them unless they come as DSA.

Overtime is Voluntary and if you extend because of the mail volumes (without poll cards) then you CAN claim.

Not sure how you end up with £10 less as Poll Cards are paid on delivery and by the amount you deliver. So you can only end up with £10 less if you deliver over 300 less than them.

As far as I'm aware, polling cards are paid by a set amount per card eg 1.5p. Some offices have a local agreement regarding payment and about over running on delivery.

It depends on what has been agreed in your office, but yes, in general part timers will get stitched up, as usual.

edit: you should also get a payment for delivering election material (flyers) that are unaddressed.

Someone is winding you up about the payment, it's a fixed unit payment between 3p and 6p per item, in some offices rather than individually count them they use a multiplier like 1.5 x number of calls but no one will be paid using the delivery supplement as a measure.

Typical tho. Always trying to shaft workers. I just need a few full timers to retire or leave then my issues may be solved as I may get more hours - maybe even full time!

We've got them due this week too. We're getting 3.3p times 1.5 number of calls i think BUT we're only getting that if we clear them all in ONE day. We indeed have 3 days to clear them, but are only getting the payment if we clear them all at once

We're getting 3p a card, and 3 days to clear them. Why do they have to come in on a thursday though?

Sorry could you please clarify exactly what you mean by 1.5 times d2d payment and how its is calculated and why it's £10 less than ft collegues

We get 6p a card, we also book extended if we go over. Any arguments and we work to time. 3 days to clear also.

Same here, they want us to prep them in our own time and we're not supposed to book overtime for them unless we would have went over anyway. If we want to do them over two days then we won't get paid.

Everyone, please check my links in this thread - the bash the DOMs nose with them. If you don't then you are losing money you are entitled to.......

It's not just the Dom we are up against, it's the union too :(

It was stated this morning in front of the rep that they all had to go today if they didn't we wouldn't get paid

Hit the rep with the Dale Hadden letter and the LTB, and then sack him, he should check his facts first before backing the bosses, now he will have to backtrack. At least, you'll have him trained properly for the EU Ref.

We got told that wed get 1.5 times our D2D payment.
I get £13 per week x 1.5 = £19.50
Full timers get £20 x 1.5 = £30.00

Does not seem fair to me as I have more delivery points than most full time staff.

But if we're given duff info from DOM and we are actually due a payment per item then it may be acceptable.

We still have to clear in 1 day tho.
Thanks for all replies. Amazing how something like this causes so much hassle. Again down to management not having a clue. Doesnt help not having a unit rep too tho.
