Pay deal 2016 and next Shares
The timeline for the allocation of the final 1% of shares hasn't been announced yet, but according to the info in this thread: http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 38&t=73244" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; the government will dispose of the shares by the end of 2015/16 and will be held in trust until they're allocated during 2016.musicmaniax wrote:Also i thought the final 1% of the shares was being done this month and nobody is talking about that either.
3.2 The Government’s intention is to dispose of shares to Royal Mail by March this year, thereby meeting the commitment made by the Chancellor in June 2015 to dispose of all of the Government’s remaining shareholding in this financial year. The shares will be held in trust and then awarded to employees during 2016.
So there is nothing to say that we will receive them before the end of the tax year.

The Government issued a press release about the final disposal of shares in February 2016 :

They intend making the disposal by March 2016 per the following extract taken from Section 3.1 & 3.2
3. Objectives and Timing
3.1 The Government’s objectives for this new allocation are the same as
the previous gift:
to structure the employee share allocation so that it provides the
maximum reward opportunity for the employees; and
to implement the allocation in a manner that minimises costs to
the tax payer.

Chancellor in June 2015 to dispose of all of the Government’s

Pay deal 2016 and next Shares
Interesting and valid point TBT. I suppose the question is how long can RM retain possession of the shares in trust before awarding them to employees and will they take advantage of any delay at our expense ?
