Employee Opinion Survey2016

Well its that time of year again, Empoyee Opinion Survey

My question is this, do they HAVE to be completed in office (our management say they do and insist on them being handed back for bulk posting, they do give us time in WTLL to complete them) or can the be taken off premises and posted separately? I'd rather take it away and fill it in in my own time (its worth it to give careful, honest, considered answers

) without the feeling of being watched and posted in a box no-where near where I work so I know its gone (call me cynical if you like......

)

If so is anything down in writing so I can shove a copy in my DIM's face

In short, no. The whole point they give you a pre-addressed envelope is you being able to complete it at your leisure wherever you choose.

I may be wrong but I think I remember hearing managers receiving bonuses for a percentage of completed surveys.

Thats exactly what I did do last year! When I was younger I was taught "If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all"

This year I'm going to go against that advice and will put in the comments whats really bugging me...... (The survey bit is going to be left blank though as it's a pointless exercise imho!)

Completion of the survey is not mandatory although we would highly encourage all employees to take the opportunity to give their view.

As this is a work-related survey, employees have been allocated time at work (during their WTLL) to complete the survey, rather than expecting employees to fill in their survey at home in their own time. This process of completing the surveys at work is standard practice in many companies.

Each survey should have been given out in an envelope as part of a pack. Each pack contained the survey itself and a pre-paid envelope with Ipsos MORI’s address for returning the survey once completed. Ipsos MORI is an independent research company conducting the survey on RMG’s behalf. All employees can be confident that their answers will be treated in complete confidence. Ipsos MORI promises that surveys will never be linked to an individual. Ipsos MORI is a member of the Market Research Society. As a member, they are bound by its Code of Conduct not to identify individual respondents’ views.

Surveys should not have been handed back to managers without being sealed in the pre-paid/pre-addressed envelope. Managers should collect the sealed packs and return them in bulk via recorded delivery to Ipsos MORI (ideally using the bags that they arrived in). If employees specifically wish to, they can take the survey home and complete it and then return it in the post in the pre-paid and pre-addressed envelope direct to Ipsos MORI.

We ask people to take part in the survey so that they can share their views in a fair and consistent way, we also give people the opportunity to do this in a confidential environment. The survey gives people the chance to say what they want without being concerned about people finding out what they individually said. Also, only by surveying everyone in RMG will we get an overall view of what people think and be able to respond to that at a corporate level.

They are joking, we haven't seen our results in our office for 3 years.
They will also spin the results no matter how bad they are.
Example - 32% think we are doing a good job, rather then 68% think we're s**t at what we do

I go through the newspapers left lying around and cut out all adverts for hearing aids.
Bung them all in the pre paid envelope with a sheet of A4 saying " nobody listens to us" and give it to the DOM

With one week to go before 2016 Employee Survey opens, now is a great time for teams to talk about what they have achieved locally. From better communication to more effective planning and recognising good work, units across the country have made changes to the way they operate.

Every unit has been sent a Wonderwall poster, a tool designed to help teams discuss and reflect on the past 12 months.

Our head of culture and engagement Rachel Blackett, said: ‘The Wonderwall poster highlights some of the actions taken a national level in response to last year’s survey results. Sometimes we can forget just how much we have achieved, so the poster has been designed to help teams focus on that.’

The Employee Survey will take place between Monday 29 February and Friday 18 March. For more information see this week’s RMTV...
