I've been off for more than 20 days. Will it go to a stage 1 or straight to a stage 2?

Stage 1.
Stage 2 is for a subsequent absence of 4 occasions or 10+ days in the 6 months following your return to work when you were given the Stage 1

In theory AODs, and absences for treatment of injuries that caused previous absences. The theory being that you are taking corrective action which will reduce chances of absence later on.

Managers are supposed to use their discretion in all cases, they don't for fear of upsetting their boss.

Ours is pretty fair , as long as your sickness record is good then I know of a few cases where no stage has been issued ( operations / covering doctors notes etc) , but if you have lots of short " feeling sick " days its a fair bet you will get one.Surreypostie wrote:Managers are supposed to use their discretion in all cases, they don't for fear of upsetting their boss.
