Hi. Ive been shifted onto a 30 hour duty. My contract is 25 hours.
Can I claim 1hr absence per day even if I finish early.
Also can I get my contract increased to match the duty. Duty is vacant and Im the senior part timer so I could argue the duty is "mine"

You can only claim the hour if you are working it or if you have permission from the dom to do so
you can't claim the duty it must go up for signing where the most senior applicant will get it (you may be most senior pt but a more senior ft may want it)
you can get your contract increased to match it when you sign for the duty or if your dom is willing to temporarily increase your contract whilst you are covering it

Nice one ta. Theres 18 duties in our office. 1 x full time vacancy. 1 x 30hr vacancy and 1 x 20 hour. None of which look like being filled. Some BS regarding no recruitment till end March. No unit rep to keep tabs on whats going on so seems like management doing what they want. They say suitability comes before seniority. Suitability meaning "if your face fits". Can I force a temp increase in contract to reflect duty hours if Dom wont do resign. Fed up getting screwed for annual leave pay, D2D pro rata payment and the faf of claiming ot daily.

Can't force an increase in hours you can only ask for it,
as for vacancies if just normal postie jobs then must be filled by seniority, suitability only comes into it for certain jobs(rle dom support) covered under the way forward agreement and then it's the most senior suitable person
lastly and the bit of info that may help the most, if a vacancies has been around for 6 months it must be filled, OR if the number of vacancies in a delivery office is greater than 5% they must be advertised immediately, in your office of 18 that means every vacancies must be filled immediately, it's in the Way Forward Agreement
