Mate of mine in the office has just come back from 3 months sickness only today he has going on light duties from Monday so the DOM said he now has to go on a 10 -6 duty as there in not enough workload for him from his 6am start till his 2 pm finish. He approached the DOM he said its a new thing within Royal Mail its been agreed with the union, basically its to get you off light duties as soon as possible. anyone else heard of this?

Nope. I have had light duties a couple of times and the opposite is true. The DIM gets me in earlier than usual, stickering the trackeds, throwing a couple of rounds off for the 9AM walk-only starters and prepping door-dustbins for the lapsed rounds etc. To get this done before the people took it out I was started at 5 AM.....

This ruined my daily routine as had to go to bed at 20-21:00 each evening.

It depends on what work they want of you. I suppose door-dustbins can be thrown off in advance at any hour, so can doing the office kill-offs, the non-collected item kill-offs from the EO etc. Usually though the work you'd do as I mentioned in the first paragraph will necessitate prep at early hours to help the rest get out on time or quick enough.

There is a late shift for most EO's - perhaps the DIM has you pencilled in for that, or collection duties?

I never heard of anything official that means deliberately inconveniencing posties by making them work after school pick-up time etc. out of spite because they are sick or injured. Be damnable if there was. :thumbdown :thumbdown

Has atos been involved,if so what have they said? If not why not?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
