MRM.COM:Colleagues recognised at the first ever World Class Mail Awards

Excellence in operations was celebrated at the first ever World Class Mail Awards on Thursday 11 February.

We introduced World Class Mail in 2008 to provide our people with a set of standards for the business. Since then, we have made great progress and colleagues were recognised for their efforts at the ceremony in Birmingham.

Chief operations officer Sue Whalley presented awards to the 14 winning units, and there was a speech from special guest Alessandro Leverano, from Chrysler Automotive Group

Bronze Awards were given to Manchester delivery office; Plymouth manual data entry centre; South West distribution centre; Yorkshire distribution centre; Tyneside mail centre; Jubilee mail centre; Warrington mail centre; and Home Counties North mail centre.

Heathrow Worldwide distribution centre achieved Silver status.

Mike Sibley, plant manager, said: ‘We started our WCM journey in 2010. In 2012 we achieved Bronze, and by 2014 we had improved further to get Silver. Progression is all about understanding your KPIs.

‘Overall we’ve improved safety, quality and financially by engaging people and involving them throughout. Our goal now is to achieve the Gold award.’

Mike that KPIs does'nt mean" Keeping Posties Ignorant"but then is that not the business strategy

You are close Blue, if bullshit baffles brains then this is a perfect example:

Who actually makes all this s**t up? Does it get the mail delivered? After all, that is our primary goal, not loads of stupid drawings that look like they have been done by 2 year olds. Thankfully all this WCM is never mentioned in our office. One of our managers did inform us he had a nice fancy title, when we enquired what it means, the response was, I have absolutely no idea.
