conduct coded for missing a special and local collect

Had a letter on my frame yesterday when I got back from my walk asking me to attend a meeting with the dom for delivering a special after the 1pm deadline (guilty of that by the way) they`re also trying to do me for mis scanning a local collect at the post office. I initially scanned it with all the other stuff for the PO as delivered then realised my mistake and rescanned it as Local Collect, the DoM is saying that only the first scan will show up in this situation and any further scan will not overide the first(seems like a flaw in the system to me) anybody else been in this situation and what can I expect as punishment , also is there a right to appeal? A colleague failed a special in the last few weeks and another failed to scan a Local Collect and they just received a ticking off , seems like they`re singling me out as an example.

Have you recieved training? Signed anything to say you have recieved training?

This happened to me at xmas time, i had 7 local collects for the p.o and scanned them all as delivered as i didnt know what local collect was at the time. It might seem silly, but i was totally unaware, and our dom showed me when i got back what to do on the PDA as he said i should have been shown and was aware i hadent. Tbh, most of the problems in RM revolve around lack of training, because training costs money.

Hi , not had any training as such but was aware the items needed to be scanned as Local Collect, but was unaware that once mistakenly scanned as Delivered or Safeplace that then scanning Local Collect would not rectify the mistake.

Seems a training issue. Make sure you take a rep with you, and inform him of your lack of training.

The PDA system is flawed with regards to Local Collects. All options other than Local Collect should be greyed out.

I was unaware of this, I've done this once or twice accidentally dropping off local collects then hitting delivered but each time I've realised the mistake immediately and scanned them as local collect assuming that the latest scan is what matters in regards to the tracking of the item.

I've never been asked or pulled regarding any of the local collects I've double scanned.

we were told there is a flaw in the system, but if you do misscan as long as you correct it to 'local collect' within twenty minutes, it will be okay.

I had rescanned it within about 30 seconds of the initial wrong scan alonside another Local Collect which was scanned correctly and they`re telling me that its a failure, seems strange if this is the case..

well , did a track and trace on the Local Collect tracked item and indeed it shows both scans that I had performed, the first being an incorrect Safeplace scan and then within the same minute the correct Local Collect scan, showed them the evidence but they are adamant it is a failure

People make mistakes every day. Your manager makes mistakes everyday. Moya Greene makes mistakes everyday. You should be conduct coded if you do this every time sure but if it's once in a while it's normal, for everyone. Everyone makes mistakes. Take a rep in and enlighten them as to the fallibility of humankind.
