Duty holder retired I'll health

Just wondering, a rather nice duty has become vacant because of a ill health retirement and the Dom is talking as if he's going to "give" this to one of his faves. Am I right in thinking that this duty should be advertised after 6 months if it isn't going to "absorbed" onto the other deliveries? That won't happen because its mainly a firms delivery with a small walk tagged onto it

He can put his mum on it if he wants (If she's a reserve) and yes,after 6 months it should go up.

Also depending on size of office it may need to ho up immediately, if the number of vacancies is 5% or more it should go up straight away, so if it's the only vacancy and office is smaller than 21 staff it should go up straight away

So, would the vacant duty be filled by seniority or, as my DIM says suitability. Ive missed out on a couple if vacant duties cos Im not a 'yes" man. Dom is favouring her faves and training them on various duties but not me. Therefore when a duty comes up the person (her fav) gets it as theyve been trained! And Im not "suitable" . What chance do we have...

It's always been seniority as far as I know unless it's a Dom support role or something like that

you may not have to wait 6 months. If a duty has been vacant for 6 months it should go up for resign with all other vacant positions en bloc, this would include, potentially, a duty that was vacated the day before.
