Sort to Clear ( Oxford ).

Post by oxon »

A friend of mine who works in the city of Oxford delivery office just rang me up and said that they used to to 1hr 30 mins. sorting in the morning but now all the delivery staff who start at 6 am do the sorting until its ALL clear. Delivery staff go out on their walks about or after 10 am . Management is breaking all the rules and agrements.

Time to re-inforce "DOING THE JOB PROPERLY" then. They want them to sort it all, fine, sort it all. Just remember to keep to the bag matrix, and cut-off id need be at the appropriate time.

City of Oxford delivery office ... management says their delivery staff are " pusy cats " . More than 100 staff have no resistance what so ever . Delivery staff never heard of word " guts " and they haven't got it .

This is my work Day

start 06.15:cuppa
on the sorting by 0620ish
finish on the sorting at 0740 :cuppa
break until 0800 ish
s**t break until 0815
throw off walk until 0915 :cuppa
redirection and prep until 10am
out on delivery at 1015
driver picks up all bags at 10am
finish delivery 1315-1330
God i have too drag it out!
its amazing how slow i can walk if i put my mind too it
And i know my customers a lot better. LOL

The reason we have too drag it out is because we are only throwing in mail for an hour and it doesn't add
up to much! Maybe i should go in early and work for nothing and not have a break and use my car! NOT
Then maybe i wouldn't have 26 boxes of mail and flats under my frame!
I'm sure it will get delivered some day, maybe next month, i just don't know and i don't really care any more!
As long as i am doing my job properly their is nothing they can do!

Since when have managers honoured ANY agreements, when they inconvenience them!?!?

We've been doing that this week and it's fantastic, best thing that's ever happened.

No one is rushing at all, no ones panicking to get out early, no one is completing their delivery, bags and bags of mail left in the office.

My first letter was 11.05 am yesterday, 2 hours delivery, 10 minute bike ride back, 5 minutes to sort my stuff out and have a leak, out of the door at 1.20 pm.

Manager still delivering mail at 6.00 pm.

What's not to like about that?
