your manager has procedures to follow but potentially yes you need to take them, hence ask him what he wants done with them

If he asks you to take them, don't refuse but inform him it's likely to make you cut off or cut off more than usual

I would want to see proof that the failure has been reported and that the customer has stated that late delivery is acceptable.
Obviously any offer on the D2D would still have to be valid.

so leading on for that advice if a couple of trays of mail were left from last week would you refuse to deliver them until manager showed you proof? its not up to us to ensure that its been reported, yes if you doubt it has been done then report that but refusing to do the work without proof it has been reported would be unreasonable and could lead to a disciplinary

also does not matter if offer on the d2d is still valid or not, that's not your decision to deliver in that regards that's down to the sending company if they still want it delivered not the postie

you said you would only delivery after you saw proof it had been reported, so proof it had been reported

as for delivering out of date material that's the company who is sending it's decision, does that company need to then check with every postie that they will deliver it?

We get hundreds and hundreds left every week,managers don't care and nothing ever gets done,it's been like it for weeks,it's a complete shambles at our place.

If you were not approached by lino regarding last week's D2D, I suggest not approaching the lino about them and just concentrate of this week's D2D.
