Full time walk, part time hours.

All us part-timers have been told from Monday we can't come in early to prep/sort as they are saving money. Even though loads of us are on full-time walks & some of us are double prepping. It's ok though, our walks will be fully prepped when we get in at 9am.......But if we go over we are allowed to book? A bit Irish don't you think?

I cut off today for the first time ever...along with a colleague. We bought mail back at 2pm & will do the same all next week just to prove a point. Been working 60 hours a week for this firm since I joined & now feel sh!t on. 'Join the club' springs to mind.

You need everyone who has been stupidly banned from coming in early to cut off and bring back...2 or 3 days of that and they'll change their minds pretty quick.

as above, cut off but if they do backtrack and revert to asking you all to come in early again, refuse that too unless made up to full time.
this could only work in a united office but i find there's too many "i'm alright jacks" who get looked after

Unless a vast majority of the PT in your depot sing from the same hymn sheet from Monday, you are unlikely to get a backtrack from this change and give you all a revised, better arrangement. Managers will be relying on a lot of you "crumbling," finishing off prep that is not complete when you arrive at 0900 and then completing the walks on overtime, because they expect you to need the extra cash.

If you all work your hours at a reasonable pace, including taking your paid meal relief (taking account of your new hours), you might be all able to prove a point that the basic contract hours are woefully short of the workload the computer says you can achieve by following the over-running procedure to finish at your contract finish time.

If you are covering multiple duties during the week, make sure the total number of allocated hours matches your contracted hours for the week. So if you have a 24 hour contract over three days per week, make sure your contracted hours are on average 8 hours per day including 40mins paid meal relief.

I was thinking the same,most of the part-time-time duties in my office actually get more time prep and delivery than the full timers.

Been told to come in at 9am instead but be on the same full time duty.

It won't be prepped. I won't be finished by 2 which is when my contract hours are up.
Happy doing overtime in the morning but not the afternoon so I will be cutting off.

if you've been doing the same duty on full time hours for 2 yrs then your contract hours should be increased. its supposed to happen if you've been doing it for 6 months or more, let alone 2 yrs.

if you've been doing the same duty on full time hours for 2 yrs then your contract hours should be increased. its supposed to happen if you've been doing it for 6 months or more, let alone 2 yrs.

though it may not be his hours that actually increased, he has right to request a review of the extra hours he is working but if it throws up extra hours into the office then the most senior pt staff that wants them should get them before him
