thats a load of rubbish, USO would need to be changed by act of law to allow that, so only the government can change us to Mon to Fri and they have committed to a Mon to Sat USO, so that is not going to happen for at least several years, some of the posts your making today sound really out there don't know who has been feeding you the info but it doesn't look thought through

It may not be true yet but as many other couriers charge a premium for Saturday delivery I wouldn't be surprised to see Royal Mail start doing so in the future.

CWU AREA REP ACTUALLY but they are really just another tier of mgmt now

that would be the same cwu area rep who is agreeing to longer delivery spans for your office that you don't agree with? and the same cwu rep who's job it is to make sure those national agreements are applied? maybe you need to try and elect a better area rep

I can't see sat being taken out of the option as it's agreed by both CWU and RM Management that Monday would be the day to go. But also RM want to start sunday working too so it could be Monday and tues our 2 light days if it did happen. Remember what RM want and what they get are 2 different things

So all the businesses around the country that are closed and have retentions wouldn't be getting any mail until Tuesday or wednesday including all the big ones in the city's?! Because its more important to deliver door to doors and junk to houses on a saturday?

Wrong again. Royal Mail has part of their strategy scooped reducing the 6 day service but they reviewed dropping Monday and then decided to remain with the 6 day service.

Why would the union want to move to a Monday to Friday service not only will it potentially lose all rest day covers , but Mail centre on Friday , collections staff on a Friday , professional drivers , RDC workers etc.

Equally as parcels are growing and biggest ordering is done on a Friday night why would Royal Mail want to cut Saturday's ?

Since most of our competitors in the parcel market are now offering a 7 day service and even same day delivery it's unlikely that Royal Mail will buck the trend and reduce its relevance in the market place.

Heard today that they want to give everyone a Tuesday off. Can't see that being right either, can you imagine all the businesses whether large,small or being run from home accepting that they won't be getting a delivery on a weekday. What about all the specials and tracked parcels as well - are RM just going to say to customers sorry we don't deliver on Tuesday's so you'll have to use another carrier. Would be suicide to take a day out of the working week, if anything can see the future being a 7 day a week operation.

and coincidently the last time dingo was on message boards was to endorse cwu decisions on our last great agreement

sad thing is no cohesion or unity between areas all treated differently by cwu and rm
divide and conquer from our leaders in cwu as well as rm
different agreements ,workplans pt/ft ratios ,del spans ,p&l,collections,shift patterns everything
local agreements is only a charter for rm and mgmt to meet their own ends with complience from cwu reps in our area GLASGOW and west of scotland

official silence? so everytime a member hears a clearly stupid rumour the cwu has to release an official statement? If they were doing that they wouldn't have time to do anything else, if you feel you are being poorly represented by area reps, sorry they are the people who have been democratically elected by your colleagues in your area to represent them
