A manager has changed the lapsing for this Unit.

Duties that have building development added take that instead of lapsing. The rest of us have bigger chunks of lapsed to do.

Now I'm quite happy to tell him I'm working to time. But my problem is, surely building developments should be done on overtime by people who want it. This ultimately shows up, and more hours are put into the office.

I've spoken to the manager. No joy. Union man also doesn't seem that bothered. I'd just like peoples thoughts on it. Thanks.

DSM has possibly ordered all growth is to be absorbed. Stick to your guns and just work your daily duty hours.

I have recently been covering a walk that has this arrangement of building development as lapsing. There will be at least 135 calls when it is finished.
"A third of the world's farmland is now useless due to soil degradation, yet we still keep producing mouths to feed. And what's you answer to that? Energy saving lightbulbs?"

In the past (when it's been too busy to lapse) we've been told to take the lapsing but leave some of your allocated duty behind! :shock:
Personally it doesn't bother me (it's all Royal Mail's work) but the "Old Mafia" like to kick off about letting THEIR customers down.... Ha Ha. They're obviously not bothered about the poor buggers that live on a lapsed duty that may not get mail for several days! :no no

same in our unit new development covered on walk,instead of lapsing.
