Duty after 20 Months
There is a situation in my office where a guy has been on a duty for coming up to 20 months. The duty holder came off it because of child care issues. Somebody told the guy currently on the duty that if you do the duty for 20 or more months it becomes yours. Is this the case ?

No if you haven't picked a advertised duty its not yours. You can ask for your hours to be reviewed after a set time

A vacant duty must be advertised after 6 months as per agreement.

As per the Union recently a lad in our office got a duty based purely on the fact he had been covering it for over 6 months.
