Local Collect Items

Having been blind-sided re a Local Collect item (Amazon I presume) not being scanned by myself can I clarify a few things regarding Local Collects:

1. 'Delivered Scanned' items (Amazon) have a black ' Local Collect' area and need to be scanned as 'Local Collect' rather than scanned as 'Delivered'.

2. Re-delivery of Recorded items to an SPO also need to be scanned but as 'Delivered' with a signature from post office. Local Collect is not an option on the PDAs I believe.

3. Re-delivery of Tracked items to an SPO also need to be scanned. Am I correct in assuming that these items are scanned as 'Delivered' (with signature if required) rather than 'Local Collect'?

4. Other non-trackable items have a sticker for the SPO to scan and we do nothing with these apart from handing them over.

One final question. If one of these Amazon (Local Collects) is not scanned upon receipt at LDO prior to being sorted into a duty parcels small york, will this lead to a failed scan report even if the scan at the SPO has been done correctly? What I should have done today was ask my esteemed colleague for the full audit trail of said item.

Re-delivery items for a local collect? As per my original list or not? And now that you mention the se what about 'Delivered scanned' items forwarded to SPO as a Local Collect?

All items which are Local Collect need the original barcode to be scanned as LOCAL COLLECT as this generates a text to the customer informing them that their package is ready for collection at their nominated Post Office.
Ordinary parcels (that is parcels which are not "Signed For", Tracked Items , International Signed For , or Special Delivery) which are issued for local collect and have a Red/Black Barcode should not be scanned.

The Red/Black Post Office Bar Code (added to items at your Delivery Office) should never be scanned on a Delivery PDA

Easy way to remember it is if it's handed to customer it's delivered and if it's handed to post office it's always local collect, it doesn't a Matt if it's are delivery or not if its been requested to go to post office it's always scanned as local collect regardless of what type of service being used, the locker should also be putting a local collect bar code on the items for the post office staff also, as said above don't scan this one as there is no way to tie it to the other barcode if any on the item

But I don't think the PDA can scan a 'recorded delivery' as a 'local collect' item - it has to have a signature hence selecting 'Delivered' rather than 'Local Collect'. So I ask again what happens to Tracked that are requested by the customer to be left at SPO? - scanned as 'Local Collect' or 'Delivered'. Sorry to be pedantic but having an SPO on my route this is a recurring issue and nobody can give me the definitive answer or some kind of written bible.

again if it's being left at spo then it gets scanned as local collect, recorded can be scanned as local collect, tracks being left are scanned as local collect also, you only scan it as delivered when it has been delivered to the customer and leaving at the post office even at the customers request is not delivering it to customer
