What Are The Prep Standard's
We are in an office which has had a two in the van revision sometime ago but are now being told we will face an in door workload revision what are the prep standards for an RM2000 and the new Dual purpose letter and flat's IPS frames. I was under the impression that this is a one minute test not two hours plus at the rates banded about by the DOM of 25 to 30 per minute. Have the standards changed or are they taking the piss and why are they doing this it is with great concern for all of us that this action is challenged at the highest level of our union.

Re: What Are The Prep Standard's
No, the standards haven't changed at least as far as I am aware.
Your manager is on about a planning tool (not that all planners are tools) in that they expect OPGs to prep at a certain rate and that the planning to resource the indoor element is based on that rate.

Re: What Are The Prep Standard's
Thanks TBT but I need to know the prep rates for the frames but as I understand the new dual purpose ones don't even have a prep rate that I can find and even then it is only a one minute test for the RM2000 frame but can someone from above give the definitive answer as this will have a big impact upon us all.

Re: What Are The Prep Standard's
their is no prep rates only 1 min test in clear frame at that
their prep rates are only a rm guide for iwt for whole office not individual
go to area rep with this
if d2ds in frame test cant be done
check duty times for prep against d2ds i bet you they remain the same despite differing numbers of d2ds
mangmt are using iwt prep times to bully harass and scare individuals not up to a fight
scum the lot of them
me personally would go slower and ask to be retrained
they love that

Re: What Are The Prep Standard's
Well that's the RM2000 ie walk prep frame done but how many items a minute is it 25 or 33 for the new un-agreed dual prep frames what is the figure as I cannot find it must not have one so how can you base an IWT on some magic out of a planers head and forecast the resource to workload?hans solo wrote:their is no prep rates only 1 min test in clear frame at that

You prep what you prep...
Usain Bolt is a s**t hot prepper for a short time, much better than Mo Farah, but Mo can do it for a lot longer.
Very much doubt our Mo would get conducted cause he's not as fast as Usain in the real world.
Ok RM and their screws are not in the real world so ignore my post.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I agree with you POSTMAN but how can you forecast the resourcing without the correct figures or have they magic in their heads by looking at spreadsheets with figures pulled from the air. We all need to know this as it is coming to your office sooner or later.POSTMAN wrote:You prep what you prep...

Re: What Are The Prep Standard's
Isn't IPS rate inversely linked to number of boxes in an individual IPS frame eg. number of items per minute "sorted" is less for a 56-box frame than say a 40-box frame?

Re: What Are The Prep Standard's
Yes they have prep rates for those but what about the dual purpose ones for flats and standard letters also called backless IPS the ones with bungee cords at the back some offices have these post two in a van walk revisions they fit flats in whole so they get full quick which would obviously slow the prep down somewhat.IloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote:Isn't IPS rate inversely linked to number of boxes in an individual IPS frame eg. number of items per minute "sorted" is less for a 56-box frame than say a 40-box frame?

Re: What Are The Prep Standard's
If all these figures are for iwt purpose what are standards required before coaching ,conduct issues ,i know they are bullying but be good to have figures on hand from union side if there are any .
