In August this year, my girlfriends brother will be getting married. My girlfriend has been asked to be a bridesmaid. I have been unsuccessful in securing annual leave. Our little one will only be 9 months old & will need looking after. Are there any options open to me to gaining this time off? Cheers.

Or....if you want a job to go back to after the wedding..... Try a day swop with someone or just ask, it's not too busy at work in August. Don't go sick, especially after flagging it up here!

You could request unpaid parental leave if you've been with the company for a year. https://www.gov.uk/parental-leave/overview" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
