Looks likely to happen soon at our DO after the rep was suspended for cutting off but I'd like to know what happens to those who take action if others don't?

Id like to think all union members at the very least will join you in you walkout. The whole point of a union is to stay united, the clue is in the name.

I'd get all the facts before you or your DO's Union members consider taking any "unofficial" action. Suspended for cutting off is quite vague & makes no sense if the rep has done it correctly.

offices are getting weaker & weaker by the month, as more fulltimers leave for whatever reason they are replaced with 20 hour temporary workers who cannot afford to strike as they are on the breadline already. So as time goes by a strike means nothing as only a handful could walk out which is what big companies love.

Couldn't agree more, we had revision, managed to get upgraded a lot of 24 and 28 contracts to 32+, but still couldn't get more of them to join union. What annoys me most is the biggest moaners are the first through the gates when we're on strike. Any union member has three things to consider when making a decision to strike. 1/ Is the reason for the strike valid and supported by the majority. 2/ How will a strike particularly a long drawn out strike impact on his/her personal and family circumstances. 3/ And probably the most serious consideration. The problems that might or might not occur in the workplace and in the person,s own mind if they do not support a valid call for strike action.
